Week of 12-8-14

The winter break is almost here. Next week will move very quickly as both students and staff look forward to the break. I’ve seen many great activities happening on campuses. Stop motion projects, iPad projects, student response clickers, and many computer based projects. All these activities are great ways to keep the students engaged in the learning process during a time when they like to shut down.

I will not be on campus next week. The CITS team will be working on district projects including planning the spring technology staff development opportunities and INTERACT. A couple reminders, please be sure you are turning off your computer daily and turning off your projector when it is not in use. Just leaving the projector on during your conference period can waste up to 10% of the bulbs life in a single school year, not to mention the wasted electricity.

The deadline for completing DMA hours is quickly approaching. Below is the schedule of Technology Staff Development Opportunities. There are other opportunities that are not technology related posted within ASCEND as well. Remember ASCEND can be easily accessed through PCG..
